Jordan Sweeney, MA, NCC
Pre-licensed Therapist
My name is Jordan Sweeney and I am a Nationally Certified Counselor with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rosemont College. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology from Saint Joseph’s University in West Philadelphia. I am an active member of the American Counseling Association.
As a mental health therapist, I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health needs. These needs include, yet are not limited to, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD, and complex trauma. I seek to provide safe and inclusive spaces for all my clients, from individuals to couples and families. A primary goal of mine is to meet everyone where they are when they come into my office.
In session, I utilize a humanistic, person-centered therapeutic framework. I also draw from research-driven behavioral theories such as Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In working with trauma, I utilize Narrative Therapy and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Most importantly, I treat all clients with individualized care based on their needs.
With my education and experience, I provide counseling services that support client growth and healing. I strive to work hard for my clients’ well-being, with the expectation that clients are willing to put energy into their own healing, as there is mutuality in the counseling relationship. Overall, I aim to help clients overcome life challenges and gain awareness that although difficult experiences can create pain, they also build resiliency, empathy, insight, tolerance, and wisdom.
